Texas A&M University offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Ocean Engineering. The undergraduate degree program leads to the Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering. The graduate degree programs include coursework leading to the Master of Science, Master of Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in ocean engineering. The areas of study in the Ocean Engineering Program include fluid mechanics, structural mechanics, ocean wave mechanics, oceanography, geotechnical engineering, coastal engineering, environmental fluid mechanics, marine structures, naval architecture, diving and moored systems, underwater acoustics, laboratory measurements, and ocean engineering design.

At the undergraduate level, there are two possible tracks in Ocean Engineering.

Track 1: Most ocean engineering students opt for a Degree in Ocean Engineering, which is obtained through the Ocean Engineering Program in the Department of Civil Engineering and is described in the related pages on this site.
Track 2: A few students each year opt for a Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Coastal and Ocean Engineering. This more general engineering degree is obtained through the Department of Civil Engineering and is described under the Division of Coastal and Ocean Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering.
